This comic was inspired by the episode Making Medical Education Trauma-Informed with your Cervix on the Body Banter podcast with Bailey Lo where she recounts her traumatic experience during a pelvic exam.

Negative clinical encounters can shape a patient's perception of healthcare, and sometimes even deter them from seeking the care they need. Bailey Lo recounts her personal experience and how she transformed this trauma into teaching. By becoming a Clinical Teaching Associate (CTA), she was able to reclaim the narrative and use it to educate future medical professionals on sensitive, inclusive approaches to patient care.
